Steampunk found object gear tree!

Here is a nice piece I made up in one evening.  It is an abstract steampunk gear tree.  The gears where obtained from a defunt paper shredder and the rod from a boxspring matress.  The best part IMHO is the very cool metallic blue green paint I mixed up myself.  How about a closeup of the base I made from a bigger 2.5 inche gear and a washer!

Wind surfer

Ambient Music squidoo lens

Decorative floral wall panel

I recently finished this masterpiece being inspired to dream about springtime.  It is a 9"X 15" welded steel wall art panel airbrush painted in metallic acrylic paints.  This panel is listed here in my Etsy shop.

Createx Airbrush paint

Createx airbrush paint is a quality air brush paint that can be used on meny surfaces. They come in a variety of vivid colors and finishes and most of them are ready to spray from the bottle through an airbrush.  For smaller tip airbrushes some thinning may be required.

Pearlized paints

One of the most dazzling line of Createx paint is Pearlized paint. These paints are semitransparent and add a pearlized look to a finish. This is especially usefull is custom paint jobs and decorative.

Iridescent colors

Iridescent colors are simular to the pearlized but with and added hue shift when moved in the light. It gives the impression of depth of most colors.

Opaque Colors

These are the flat ordinary colors. They do not have fluorescence, metallic shine, or pearlescent qualities. They are usually base colors for the other color types.

Nuts and bolts metal art part 2

My Contribution to Nuts and Bolts Metal Art

Awhile ago, I wrote a post about Nuts and Bolts in Metal Art and I felt it was long overdue to explore this medium in my metal art.  Also, I wanted to start making personable charactures.  Out of these two motivations bolt man the candle was born,  Not only is he warm and charming but he will hold your tea light candles or your votives for you providing you with gentle lighting.  To top all he is painted in a metallic orange paint to enhance the glow from the candles.  Just check out the closeup photo to see for yourself.

Work in progess update

Been rather busy with the holidays and traveling out of state.  I wanted to share the progress on my previous works.  The One I am showing took me awhile and it was the first piece I completed with an airbrush.  In fact, only the shiny chrome paint , the candy paint job on the accent ball, and the two rectanlges where painted with spray paint.  The item is listed in Etsy shop  at this link.

This piece titled "Festive Metal Art Abstract" quickly became a favorite of mine.  It was assembled from scrap pieces that otherwise where not being used, and it now has a funky color scheme and a curious expression.  It doesn't have to take 3 months to make great art all the time.
